A Place to Bury Strangers' dark sound seems like it would very appropriate background music while burying a stranger. Their music is very similar to that of Joy Division and The Jesus and Mary Chain, but they add some goth, noise and shoegaze to their sound. Guitarist and singer Oliver Ackermann, drummer Jay Space and bassist Dion Lunado comprise the band, and began playing in Brooklyn in 2003. In A Place to Bury Strangers, or also known as APTBS, heavy distortion and blurry vocals team up to deliver morose songs that bring you back to the good old Cure and Siouxsie days, but are certainly not a replica of any other band.
