This is, of course, intended as no offense to Brendan Canning, but exactly how many members of Broken Social Scene don't have solo side projects? That said, Canning plays some delightful, driven indie pop that's certainly worth a listen. Watch out: Kevin Drew, Jason Collett, Feist, Emily Haines...
