Friendly Fires adds danceable beats to their British hardcore punk origins to create a post-punk rhythmic style. A combination of The Fall, Junior Senior and Phoenix, Friendly Fires are named after the act of accidentally shooting at a comrade or at one's own side--which properly fits this band's ability to fire unusual genre combinations and influences to its listeners. Since 2006, Friendly Fires have not been trying to revitalize any drawn out approaches to music making. Instead, they create a style all their own that is both real musicianship, gutsy, but perfect for dancing to all night long. |
