Howlin Rain is a blues rock band from San Francisco that formed in 2006. They incorporate other elements into their songs, such as spiritual subjects and add psychedelic influences. They sound a bit like Phish, but their bluesy flavor puts them in a separate category. Howlin Rain puts out 1970s classic rock 'n' roll that came out of band founder Ethan Miller's desire (who was a member of Comets on Fire at the time) to put out softer and easier-on-the-ears songs. Out of this desire came Howlin Rain, who gives classic rock a modern flare.
