La Roux is a synth/electro pop duo from London. A couple years before they formed La Roux in 2008, members Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid were in an acoustic group called Automan. However, once the two began making tunes in their synth pop style, they couldn't stop.

Jackson and Langmaid are heavily influenced by electronic British artists such as Depeche Mode and Erasure. Jackson's strong and powerful voice can be both intimidating and pretty, but always falls so comfortably on top of the electronic dance pop instrumentals played and produced by both members. If you're looking for some some dance tunes that are a bit more obscure than their influences, give 'em a try!
