"Palomar is working indie/pop band out of Brooklyn, New York. Their name is said to be borrowed from an observatory in San Diego County, California. The band originally formed in 1998 with a different group of musicians then their current line up, with Rachel as the only original member still in the band. Since their inception, Palomar has completed national U.S. tours every year since 2003, including a tour shared with nationally renowned indie band Mates Of State. Their rock instrumentals are complemented with melodic female vocals that create a simple and driving pop sound reminscent of the more popular Rilo Kiley."
