Sin Fang Bous is a solo project of Iceland's Sindri Már Sigfússon, also a member of the band, Seabear. Bandega Interview with Sindri Már Sigfússon of Sin Fang Bous (December 2009)Sin Fang gives you wings.Q: How have your shows changed over the years? Has your perspective on performing live changed? A: I think the Sin Fang shows have been a bit different from the Seabear shows. A bit more open about how we play the songs. I think I'm probably a bit more confident these days. Q: Describe the most memorable live show you've played. A: I've played a few weird ones. One was in Austria for the art elite there at an Icelandic art opening. It was held in a huge plastic air hanger, which the founder of Red Bull owned and kept all his airplanes in. When Sin Fang played in NYC the last time, during our most quiet song a fight broke out right in front of the stage. That was pretty weird. Q: What venue do you consider to be your "home", where you feel most comfortable, with the crowd and the place itself? A: I don't think I have one of those. I always like to play in a place called 'iðnó' here in Iceland though. That's a really cozy place. Q: Describe the most enjoyable show you've ever experienced as a fan. A: I've seen lots that I loved over the years. The latest one was probably Joanna Newsom at a church here in Iceland. It was great and the music flowed out of her somehow. Q: Having just completed your North American tour with fellow Icelandic band múm, what is your impression of American audiences and did you feel that you had enough time to get a sense of the cities you visited? A: The tour was really fun. Most of the people in múm are my dear and old friends. I really liked America, actually. The food was good, but the candy and the soda were really sugary and disgusting. Sometimes, we had a whole day at the city we were playing at, but other times we just saw the parking lot and not much else. America is such a big place that sometimes it felt like we were in different countries. In all, I liked it and am looking forward to going back. The American audiences were nice and very appreciative. Show Reviews for
