Daytrotter Sessions

Surfer Blood formed in West Palm Beach, Florida in 2009. Though commonly compared to Weezer, Surfer Blood makes much more dreamy and not surprisingly, surfer-style rock. Their sound is a bit more similar to a combination of Built to Spill's light and whimsical appraoch, and The Growlers's flirtatious surfer style. However, Surfer Blood also mixes some '90s lo-fi indie rock influences into their tunes, as well. Surfer Blood's debut album, Astro Coast came out in 2010, but the band released a couple singles beforehand. One of these songs, "Swim", received raving reviews, and initiated Surfer Blood's entrance into fame.
